storefront for architecture maine presents Haystack's Architecture: Vision & Legacy in conjunction with Haystack Mountain School of Crafts – recipient of the American Institute of Architect's 25 Year Award and now celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Haystack campus designed by the architect Edward Larrabee Barnes.

Haystack’s Architecture: Vision & Legacy examines the impact, of Haystack's architecture and its architect Edward Larrabee Barnes (1915 – 2004). Seventeen projects designed by twelve architects are presented by photographs and three-dimensional models. Each architect has written a narrative describing the influences of Barnes and his work. Barnes was a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects and was posthumously awarded the Gold Medal from the Institute in 2007.

The exhibition is located at 490 Congress Street, Portland, Maine and is open, Thursday – Saturday, 2:00 – 6:00 pm and by appointment. Haystack's Director, Stuart Kestenbaum, will give a gallery talk on Portland’s First Friday, November 4th, 6:00 pm, about the history of Haystack and its architecture.
